I don’t recommend learning a Tai Chi (taijichuan) form without a teacher, but for inspiration, please watch my first Tai Chi teacher, Maggie Newman, doing the Chen Man-Ch’ing (Zheng Manqing) Yang style short form. Maggie celebrated her 101st birthday in May 2025

Bibliography

Tao Te Ching, trans. Victor H. Mair
This edition is important for the notes at the end, including the author’s analysis of the connections of the Tao Te Ching with early works of Indian philosophy. The translation and essay are by one of my professors at the University of Pennsylvania.

Health Benefits of Tai Chi

This book is the result of a clinical study that tested the health outcomes of short term tai chi practice. Very motivating!
