"The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love." One of the touchstones of my life, I have calligraphed this phrase thousands of times. In the Persian (Farsi) above the phrase reads in transliteration: "khodaavand rahmaan o karim ast, dir ghazab va besiaar rahim." From the Psalm of David, Number 145, Verse 8. |

| The Arabic Script is the basis for one of the richest calligraphic artistic traditions in the world.
