"Shazdeh" in a simple Kufic style. When I was very young we would find pottery shards in the ruins of the ancient town of Tus near Mashhad. The calligraphy on these shards was similar to the more famous examples of Kufic script on the plates of Nishapur in the same area of Iran. I've always found an attraction to the style, but have yet to fully explore its possibilities -- something to look forward to as an artist and a calligrapher!
