The Arabic script is the basis for one of the most vibrant and creative calligraphic artforms in the world. The script is used to write Arabic, Persian (Farsi), Urdu, Dari, and many other languages. I first learned Persian calligraphy in elementary school, using the traditional reed pen — the qalam ney — to copy lines of poetry from Hafiz, Ferdowsi, Sa’adi, Rumi and Rudaki.
My work has been featured worldwide in books, magazines, websites and exhibitions. I have created thousands of calligraphic designs for logos, book design, television shows, websites, weddings, certificates, jewelry, monograms and body art. I am familiar with the calligraphic traditions for the various linguistic, regional, historic and contemporary styles of Arabic script.
In addition to calligraphy design, I work with linguistic experts to provide accurate translations into Arabic, Urdu and Persian (Farsi).
